Berkshire Hathaway brands are a pretty elite bunch. They’re also part of a close-knit family of businesses that looks for ways to work together. Such was the case when Helzberg and GEICO teamed up on a co-op marketing strategy to boost awareness for both brands. The retail team at Krause provided the strategy and concept, while GEICO’s lead agency The Martin Agency graciously offered up the perfect spokesman: the GEICO Gecko.
A Co-op marketing match made in heaven.
With similar target audiences, the partnership made perfect sense. By reaching out through TV, print and digital channels, Helzberg was able to take advantage of GEICO’s nationwide reach and introduce itself to the insurance giant’s large customer base. Meanwhile, GEICO was able to put their famous Gecko into a romantic new narrative only Helzberg could provide.
